The Eventide VR240 was designed for public safety, financial, broadcast, or customer service agencies requiring affordable digital voice logging. This recorder can record 8, 16, or 24 channels. This recorder is available with single or dual archive drives. DDS-2, DDS-3, DVD-RAM, and DVD-RAM(2) are all available archive media types. The internal hard disk also is upgradeable. This digital recorder can be remotely accessed using the Eventide PCRemote software, using a serial connection. This recorder also has a beep tone you can put on, on a per channel basis. This recorder can be a desktop unit or mount in a standard 19" rack, and takes up 3 U of vertical space. The VR240 is an independent recorder, no PC is needed to run the recorder. It is completely stand-alone. This recorder comes with a hard drive for buffering, and instant recall of data. the hard drives are full upgradeable to larger densities. The VR240 is field upgradeable, by means of the record cards, which come in increments of 8 channels. There is a time and date stamp with all recordings, and a feature which permits recording of the time stamp even during dead air times. Searching is done by channel, time/date, next message, and more. The operating system is upgradeable by software contained on media, and is stored in the ROM.
